Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information — and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
Last updated: June 2026
Man Van Whitley Bay (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you contact us or use our man-and-van service, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
We are a local man-and-van removals business operating in Whitley Bay and across North Tyneside. For any privacy question, or to exercise your rights, contact us at info@manvanwhitleybay.co.uk or on 07355 711 600. For the purposes of the UK GDPR, we are the data controller for the information you provide to us.
What information we collect
We only collect what we need to quote for and carry out your move. This typically includes your name, phone number, email address, the pickup and delivery addresses, the date of your move and a description of the items or service you need. If you contact us by phone, email or our website form, we keep a record of that correspondence. We do not collect special category data and we do not ask for payment-card details through this website.
How we use your information
We use your information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, arrange and carry out your booking, keep you updated about your move, issue invoices and receipts, and deal with any follow-up or complaints. We may also use basic contact details to confirm details of a job already booked. We rely on the lawful bases of taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract, performing our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in running and improving our business.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We will only share it where necessary — for example with a team member carrying out your move, or where we are legally required to (such as for tax or to comply with a lawful request). Where we use third-party tools such as email providers, they process information on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking records only as long as we reasonably need them — generally for the duration of the job and a sensible period afterwards to handle invoicing and any queries, and to meet our legal obligations. We then securely delete or anonymise the information.
Cookies
This website uses only the cookies necessary for it to function properly. We do not use intrusive advertising or tracking cookies. If we embed a third-party map, that provider may set its own cookies; you can control cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask us to erase it, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, just get in touch using the details above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, though we’d always appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. If you have any questions about how we handle your information, please contact us — we’re always happy to help.
