Man and van — frequently asked questions

Clear answers on pricing, our waste-carrier licence, areas and how our local removals service works.

Everything you might want to know before booking a man and van on the coast — pricing, what we’ll move, our waste-carrier licence and how it all works. Can’t see your question? Just get in touch and we’ll happily help.

How much does a man and van cost in Whitley Bay?
Most local jobs are priced by the size of the load, the access at both ends and the distance. A single item often starts from around £40, a half-van load from about £65, and a full-van load from roughly £95. Rather than run an hourly meter, we give you a clear fixed quote so you know the total before we start. Send your details for a same-day price.
What areas do you cover?
We’re based in Whitley Bay and cover the whole NE25 / NE26 coast and surrounding North Tyneside — including Tynemouth, Monkseaton, Cullercoats, North Shields, Wallsend, Shiremoor, Forest Hall and Killingworth. Longer-distance and UK-wide moves are available on request.
Are you a licensed waste carrier?
Yes — we’re registered with the Environment Agency as a licensed waste carrier, so any waste from a clearance or rubbish-removal job is disposed of legally and responsibly. We’re happy to share our licence number.
Do you do the lifting and carrying?
Always — your driver loads, carries and unloads everything. For heavy items, upstairs flats or larger homes you can add a second person so nothing is a struggle. You won’t need to lift a thing.
Can you move me at short notice or at the weekend?
Usually, yes. We keep slots free for short-notice work and operate seven days a week, including evenings up to 9pm. Get in touch and we’ll find the soonest slot that suits you.
Will you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
Yes. We can take apart and rebuild beds, wardrobes and flat-pack furniture as part of the move, and we’ll wrap mattresses and sofas to keep them clean and protected in transit.
What won’t you move?
For safety and legal reasons we can’t carry hazardous materials such as petrol, gas bottles, paint, fireworks or chemicals, and we don’t move live plants long distances or pets. If you’re unsure about an item, just ask.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. There’s no deposit to book and no obligation when you request a quote. You only pay once the job is done and you’re happy — by card, bank transfer or cash.
How do you price a house clearance?
Clearances are priced by the volume removed and the disposal involved rather than by item. We’ll give you a fixed quote after a quick chat or a few photos, and as a licensed waste carrier we dispose of everything legally and provide a transfer note.
Can you collect from IKEA, eBay or Facebook Marketplace?
Definitely — collections and single-item deliveries are one of our most popular services. Send us the pickup and drop-off details and we’ll quote a fixed price, often for the same or next day.
