About Man Van Whitley Bay
Local, owner-run and genuinely reliable — the careful man-and-van service trusted across Whitley Bay, Tynemouth and the North Tyneside coast.
Our story
A local man and van you can actually rely on
Man Van Whitley Bay started for a simple reason: too many people in our corner of the coast had been let down by movers who turned up late, quoted one price and charged another, or treated a treasured wardrobe like a skip-bound offcut. We knew we could do better — so we put a clean, well-kept van on the road, learned every shortcut between Whitley Bay and the Tyne, and built a service around being on time, careful and straight with people.
Today we’re a small, owner-run team that has completed thousands of moves across North Tyneside, from first-time renters in Cullercoats to families upsizing in Monkseaton and downsizers settling into the new flats around the Spanish City. We’re big enough to handle a full four-bed house move and small enough that the person who quotes your job is often the person who turns up to do it.
What we stand for
Three things, really. Show up on time. Take care of people’s things. Charge what we quoted. It sounds obvious, but those three promises are why most of our work now comes from repeat customers and word of mouth around the bays.
Why people trust us
Experience, licensing and a local reputation
Licensed waste carrier
Registered with the Environment Agency, so any clearance or rubbish-removal job is disposed of legally and responsibly. Licence number available on request.
Thousands of moves
Years of hands-on experience across the NE25 and NE26 postcodes — tight stairwells, listed terraces and seafront flats included. There’s very little we haven’t carried.
Licensed waste carrier
For clearances and waste removal we’re a registered carrier, so everything we take away is disposed of legally and responsibly — never fly-tipped.
Run by people who know the coast
We live and work here, so local knowledge is built in. We know that Park View gets busy on a Saturday, that some of the older Whitley Bay terraces have a half-landing that defeats a two-seater settee, and which streets in Tynemouth need a permit before you park a van outside for an hour. That practical understanding is the difference between a move that runs to time and one that drifts into the afternoon.
It also means we’re properly invested in doing a good job. When the people moving you are the same people you’ll see at the Metro station or on the prom, your reputation matters. Every review we earn and every neighbour who recommends us is the business working exactly as we want it to.
Friendly faces, careful hands
Our drivers are polite, presentable and DBS-checked, and they come equipped to protect your home as well as your belongings — furniture blankets, straps, a wheeled trolley and floor protection all travel as standard. We’ll happily dismantle and reassemble beds and flat-pack, wrap mattresses and sofas, and work room by room so nothing gets lost or damaged in the rush.
Whether you’re moving a houseful or just need one heavy item shifting, you’ll get the same calm, careful service. That’s the whole point of choosing a local man and van rather than a faceless national chain.
